The Barnsley Local Plan was adopted in January 2019 and it was agreed during the examination of the Plan that for some larger strategic sites a Masterplan Framework should be prepared. The purpose of such a Framework is to ensure that sites can be developed in a comprehensive manner, taking into account all infrastructure requirements. This will ensure that strategic site allocations are brought forward in a sustainable way that secures inclusive growth that reflects each of the council’s corporate priorities. The Masterplan Framework is a strategic document that sits beneath the Local Plan and will inform future planning applications.
The purpose of this consultation is to provide the opportunity to shape the Hoyland West Masterplan Framework. Public opinion is being sought on a number of areas, including highways options and landscaping proposals.
